Since 2015 I have worked hard to represent the people of Edinburgh South West and to stand up for the rights of everyone, particularly women and girls. At the general election I will be campaigning to retain this seat so I can continue this work.

In 2017 I held this seat despite being a top Tory target. I believe that was due to the hard work of my campaign team and what I and my office had achieved locally and nationally. In 2019 we retained this seat with a significantly increased majority of nearly 12,000 following my role in opposing Brexit and my successful case against Boris Johnson’s unlawful prorogation of Parliament.

I continue to push forward the case for Scotland to become an independent country campaigning alongside independence supporters from all parties and none in the constituency, speaking at marches and rallies and contributing to national discussions on strategy through my column in the National and within the SNP Westminster Group. I have most recently done this at the Lothian Regional Assembly and by co-sponsoring a conference motion.

I am proud of my record, my support for equality and universal human rights for all and the work I continue to do to promote freedom of expression and to stand up for the rights of women and girls.

So, if you want Edinburgh South West to continue to have an independent minded and principled representative at Westminster please support my campaign for re-election.
