Meeting with Leonard Cheshire
As a disability charity and social care provider, Leonard Cheshire’s work on accessible workplaces, travel, and social care and accommodation empowers disabled people to lead an independent life.
I am excited by their Go Digital programme, delivered in conjunction with Edinburgh College, that will help provide hundreds of people with disabilities access to life-changing assistive technology and enable them to obtain qualifications for education, training, volunteering, or employment.
With the dangers Brexit poses to social care and other sectors comprised of so-called “low-skilled” but vital workers, Leonard Cheshire’s work and purpose is more important than ever. I look forward to more conversations with Stuart and others at Leonard Cheshire on how to translate their ideas into government policy for the United Kingdom.
