"Lovely visit to Riding for the Disabled at Ravelrig a much loved & hugely valued community resource in Edinburgh South West with beautiful horses & an incredible view of the Pentlands. Thanks to Barbara, Elaine & John for showing me around."
Ravelrig Riding for the Disabled Group is a member of the UK Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) and part of the Edinburgh & Borders RDA Region.
The Group provides people with disability the opportunity to ride and enjoy all the activities connected with horse riding. Founded in 1986, Ravelrig RDA has grown from one little pony and 12 riders, to the present day capacity of eight horses and ponies and 95 regular riders.
Ravelrig RDA is run almost entirely by a dedicated group of more than 100 volunteers ranging in age from 12 to 75. The Group is managed by a Board of Trustees who are also active volunteers with the Group.
